3 Major English Edition Cardfight!! Vanguard Expansions in June 2015

Singapore (March 12, 2015) – Bushiroad announced the simultaneous release of 3 Cardfight!! Vanguard G English Edition products which will be on sale on June 19, 2015. These expansions include one new Trial Deck, the 2015 edition of the Fighters Collection and an all-new product, the Legend Deck.

 

Cardfight!! Vanguard G Trial Deck Vol. 5 ‘Fateful Star Messiah’, Fighters Collection 2015 and Legend Deck Vol. 1 ‘The Dark “Ren Suzugamori”’ feature the latest in the Cardfight!! Vanguard G series and contain new cards that will feature units with the Stride and Generation Break abilities.

G Trial Deck Vol. 5 ‘Fateful Star Messiah’ features the <<Link Joker>> clan, while the Fighters Collection 2015 will contain new G-units for all clans that have been released thus far, excluding the <<Etranger>> clan.

The Legend Deck series is a new product that shines the spotlight on “Legendary Fighters” from the Cardfight!! Vanguard animation. Legend Deck Vol. 1 will feature the fan-favorite Ren Suzugamori and his popular <<Shadow Paladin>> deck. It is the first of its kind, and will contain premium items such as an exclusive deck holder, fighter’s counter as well as a special foiled promotional card.

G Trial Deck Vol. 5 ‘Fateful Star Messiah’ and Legend Deck Vol.1 ‘The Dark “Ren Suzugamori”’ will also include one hot-stamped card randomly inserted into decks.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G Trial Decks Sold Out Within One Week

Singapore (March 5, 2015) – More than 80,000 trial decks were sold within the first week of release of the Cardfight!! Vanguard G Trial Deck Vol. 1 ‘Awakening of the Interdimensional Dragon’, G Trial Deck Vol. 2 ‘Divine Swordsman of the Shiny Star’ and G Trial Deck Vol. 3 ‘Flower Maiden of Purity’. These trial decks were released on February 27, 2015.

These Cardfight!! Vanguard G Trial Decks join the ranks of other Cardfight!! Vanguard expansions that sold out within weeks of release; including Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver.E, Extra Booster Pack Vol. 11 ‘Requiem at Dusk’ and Extra Booster Pack Vol. 12 ‘Waltz of the Goddess’. More than 950,000 packs of Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver.E were sold within a month of release. Extra Booster Pack Vol. 11 ‘Requiem at Dusk’ and Extra Booster Pack Vol. 12 ‘Waltz of the Goddess’ sold a combined 600,000 packs over the release weekend.

The next expansion for Cardfight!! Vanguard G, G Booster Pack Vol.1 Generation Stride, will be released on March 13, 2015.

Cardfight!! Vanguard G marks a new beginning for Cardfight!! Vanguard and is the latest expansion of Bushiroad’s most popular trading card game. It features new cards, abilities and a new clan, Gear Chronicle. The new expansion introduces new abilities such as Stride, Generation Break and G-Assist into the game.

Another Cardfight!! Vanguard Expansion Sold Out – Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver.E

Singapore (January 16, 2015) – More than 950,000 packs were sold in less than one month after the official release of Cardfight!! Vanguard Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver.E on December 19, 2014.

This booster pack expansion joins the list of other Cardfight!! Vanguard expansions that were completely sold out within weeks of their release dates. Previous expansions, Extra Booster Pack Vol. 11 ‘Requiem at Dusk’ and Extra Booster Pack Vol. 12 ‘Waltz of the Goddess’, sold more than 600,000 packs over the weekend.

The next expansion, Booster Pack Vol. 17 ‘Blazing Perdition’ ver.E, will hit the shelves from January 23, 2015.

Cardfight!! Vanguard is a popular trading card game developed by Bushiroad Inc. in early 2011. It is currently available in four languages; Japanese, English, Korean and Thai.

Press Release: Neon Messiah to Air in Singapore, Bushiroad Reveals Plans for First Half of 2015

Bushiroad's international branches have released a statement announcing the company's 2015 international release schedule for Cardfight!! Vanguard, which will bring the English-language trading card game within two months of synchronization with its Japanese counterpart. In addition to the previously-confirmed BT17 ver.E and G trial decks, the press release contains a timeframe for the release of G-BT01: Generation Stride on March 13, simultaneous releases of G-EB01 and TD04 on April 17, G-BT02 on May 22, G-TD05 and 06 on June 5, and Fighter's Collection 2015 on June 19.

Further, the press releases brings to light the first mentions of international release for the movie Cardfight!! Vanguard Neon Messiah, in early 2015 for Singapore. One of the crown jewels of the franchise, Neon Messiah has been the subject of strong international fan demand, and while no North American or European releases for the film have yet been announced, one may be possible depending on the film's success. Whether the Singapore debut will be dubbed or subtitled with its original Japanese audio has not been stated. The starring Japanese seiyuu Yonaga Tsubasa and Miyano Mamoru have become well-known names in the west not just for their roles as Sendou Aichi and Ibuki Kouji, but also for prominent roles in other series like Yonaga's Hazuki Nagisa (Free!) and Miyano's Yagami Light (Death Note.) In Japan Miyano's role as Ibuki proved to be a major selling point for entry-level fans, whereas in the west Ocean Group's cast of dub actors for the series are comparative unknowns with few major roles attached to them.

A first look at the English release of G-BT01: Generation Stride was tweeted by the manager of card shop Ogre, who had previously leaked information about an upcoming alternate game format, G Regulation format.

Bushiroad Reveals Plans for First Half of 2015

Singapore (December 10, 2014) – Bushiroad made a major announcement on December 5 at Anime Festival Asia 2014 in Singapore on their upcoming plans for trading card games Cardfight!! Vanguard, Weiss Schwarz and Future Card Buddyfight.

New releases for the English edition of Cardfight!! Vanguard, Weiss Schwarz and Future Card Buddyfight were revealed, as well as information about upcoming TV animations and Bushiroad Spring Fest.

2015 signals the end of Cardfight!! Vanguard and the release of the English edition of Cardfight!! Vanguard G. The latest expansion of Bushiroad’s most popular trading card game, Cardfight!! Vanguard G, features new cards, abilities and a new clan, Gear Chronicle. The new boosters introduce new abilities such as Stride, Generation Break and G-Assist into the game.

Apart from Cardfight!! Vanguard trading card game related news, Bushiroad shared that the latest season of the Cardfight!! Vanguard TV animation, Cardfight!! Vanguard G, will be airing on Singapore’s OKTO channel from January 4, 2015. It will be aired every Sunday at 10:30am.

Bushiroad also announced that the Cardfight!! Vanguard movie, ‘Neon Messiah’, will be screening in Singapore in early 2015. Movie goers will receive limited exclusive movie promotional items, such as deck cases, postcards and bags.

Press Release: Blazing Perdition ver. E in Development, Legion Campaign to Start in November

Bushiroad's most recent press release has announced the launch of the Legion Campaign from November 21st to February 28th. Believed to comprise the promo cards that in Japan were distributed as part of the Summer Legion Festival, the Legion Campaign in the west will come in the form of promotional booster packs called "Legion Packs" containing one of six Legion pairs, which will be handed out with every five booster packs purchased from an officially supported card shop. A Legion Pack can also be received with every purchase of a trial deck. The start of the Legion Campaign coincides happily with the five simultaneous releases taking place on November 21st, which will see the introduction of three new trial decks Seeker of Hope, Liberator of the Bluish Flames and Will of the Locked Dragon. As it is customary for cardfighters to buy four copies of a trial deck in order to get a full playset of its exclusive cards, the Legion Packs work well with the community's existing practices, and provide incentives for players to support their local stores rather than turn to Walmart or web dealers.

Cardfighters participating in weekly shop tournaments between December 2014 and February 2015 will also receive a Legion Revival promotional card alongside the standard promo packs. While the Legion Campaign is thought to consist of the Summer Legion Festival cards, the Legion Revival is inferred to contain the cards from the Japanese Grade 3 Revival Campaign. The Revival Campaign is an ongoing project to bring back old grade 3 cards from 2011 and 2012 by making them the mates of a new Legion unit with an appropriate skill. So far it includes the Legion pairs Oohirume and CEO Amaterasu for Oracle Think Tank, Droite and Riviere for Bermuda Triangle, Ezer and Alfred for Royal Paladin, and an as-of-yet unrevealed Legion for the Dimension Police's Great Daiyusha.

The Legion Campaign can be expected to have the bigger impact; Bushiroad international has specified that six Legion pairs will be available from the packs, suggesting a total set size of 12 cards for the promo pack. The exact contents are speculated to be the Cracking Beast Tamer and Barking Sky Tiger Legion for Pale Moon, the Holy Edge and Overdose Celestials for Angel Feather, Light Saver and Light Blaze Dragon for Royal Paladin, Kuzunoha and Seimei for Murakumo, Researcher Fox and Tester Fox for Great Nature, and Machining Hornet and Tarantula mkII for Megacolony.

The press release also hinted at the coming of VGE-BT17: Blazing Perdition ver. E for the English-language format, following up on the announcements regarding BT16's consolidating of Japanese booster sets for its English edition. That announcement made waves for revealing that the grade 4 Stride unit Harmonics Messiah will be released as a promo for the set. Like Legion of Dragons & Blades before it, BT17 ver. Singapore (September 19, 2014) – Bushiroad revealed that the upcoming Cardfight!! Vanguard English Edition expansion, Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver. E, contains a mix of cards from 5 different Japanese Edition Cardfight!! Vanguard expansions. ‘ver.E’ is exclusive to the English Edition and features a specially selected collection of cards. This mix of cards allows players access to cards from multiple expansions at once.

Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver. E features a mix of cards from the following Japanese Edition Cardfight!! Vanguard expansions:

Booster Pack Vol. 16 ‘Legion of Dragons & Blades’ ver. E is slated for release on December 19, 2014. Its Sneak Preview Events will run from December 12 to 14, 2014. Booster Pack Vol. 17 ‘Blazing Perdition’ ver.E is also currently in development and will include a mix of cards from multiple expansions too.

Coupled with the year-end releases, Bushiroad announced a ‘Cardfight!! Vanguard Legion Campaign’, which will run from November 21, 2014 to February 28, 2015. This campaign aims to increase awareness of the upcoming Cardfight!! Vanguard Legion Mate arc and to drive sales in official stores. Stores which are not registered with Bushiroad can sign up with Bushiroad as an official store to receive support for this and similar campaigns in future.

During this campaign, Bushiroad will collaborate with official distributors to provide an exclusive series of promotional pack, named the ‘Legion Pack’, to stores and players. Players who purchase 5 Cardfight!! Vanguard packs or a Cardfight!! Vanguard Trial Deck at official stores will receive a Legion Pack. Each Legion Pack contains a pair of ‘Legion’ cards. Players will be able to collect a total of 6 different pairs of Legion during the Legion Campaign.

In addition to the Legion Packs, players participating in the monthly tournaments between December 2014 to February 2015 will receive a special ‘Legion Revival’ promotional card together with their regular monthly promotional pack.

Press Release: BT16 ver. E Announced for December Release

In a recent press release, Bushiroad has announced its modified schedule for 2014. Key announcements are the simultaneous release of five products on November 21st, as well as the announcement of the new booster set, BT16 ver. E: Legion of Dragons and Blades. Although billed as an English edition of BT16, ver. E's contents will significantly differ from its Japanese counterpart, including "cards from multiple sets." Scheduled to be released on December 19th, with prerelease events from the 12th through the 14th, ver. E's modification was likely made with respect to the November schedule omitting TD15: Brawler of Friendship.

Based on the delay of Narukami's newest trial deck, the predominant theory at this time is that BT16 Ver. E will drop its Narukami support in favor of a merger with some of the cards from the upcoming Japanese Movie Booster Set, MBT01: Neon Messiah. Following this theory, ver. E would contain the Royal and Gold Paladin cards from MBT01 in place of its Narukami units, which would instead be shifted into a later set.

The current delay of BT16, previously scheduled to take place prior to Fighter's Collection 2014, was likely made to accommodate the mass November release schedule. Much like the multi-set mixup of 2012, the modified schedule will have an intense effect on professional play for the English-language game. The initial delay of BT16 pushes back the two decks popularly held to be the best in the Legion format, Thing Saver Dragon and Cat Butler Raizers, while also giving more opportunity for Genesis and Shadow Paladin cardfighters to build up a presence in tournament play using the new extra booster sets. Bushiroad World Championship 2014 to Include All English Titles

Los Angeles, CA (August 6, 2014) – Bushiroad announced the English-centric Bushiroad 2014 World Championship which will take place between September to December. This year, the World Championship will feature all 3 existing English titles; Cardfight!! Vanguard, Future Card Buddyfight and Weiss Schwarz.
This is the first year that the English Edition Future Card Buddyfight and Weiss Schwarz are included in the Bushiroad World Championship series.
Bushiroad unveiled that players participating in the Regional Qualifiers will receive a World Championship 2014 exclusive rubber playmat, a World Championship 2014 lanyard and a promotional card. There are no entry fees to the Regional Qualifiers.


Bushiroad will also be hosting a special event, Thank You Festival, as a prelude to the World Championship 2014 and to celebrate the success of Cardfight!! Vanguard and its other games. The Thank You Festival is held at the Pasadena Convention Center in California between August 30 and 31, 2014. Players are welcomed to join the tournaments and side activities at no entry free.
The Bushiroad World Championship 2014 features 9 Regional Qualifier locations in North America, 2 in Latin America, 4 in Europe and 5 in Asia-Oceania regions.
Regional Qualifier finalists will represent their region to participate in the respective Continental Championships.
The finalists from the Cardfight!! Vanguard Continental Championships will be invited to participate in the Cardfight!! Vanguard World Championship 2014 Finals in Tokyo, Japan in late December 2014.

Press Release: Record Sales of Cardfight!! Vanguard Winter-Spring Releases

Los Angeles, CA (March 7, 2014) – In less than a month after the release dates, three of the most recent Cardfight!! Vanguard expansions are now sold out. These expansions, released in February, are the highly anticipated Trial Deck Vol. 10: Purgatory Revenger, Trial Deck Vol. 11: Star-vader Invasion and Booster Pack Vol. 12: Binding Force of the Black Rings.

The introduction of the new “Link Joker” narrative and the popularity of the newly-released clan, along with tie-ins to the themed Cardfight!! Vanguard Team League 2014 “Invasion” campaign resulted in an unprecedented surge of purchases from retailers across the world. Despite an increased print run for all three products, both Trial Decks and the Booster Pack sold out within two weeks of their release dates in February.

Bushiroad Announces Cardfight!! Vanguard Team League 2014 Plans

Los Angeles, CA (February 24, 2014) – Bushiroad announced their plans for their 2^nd Cardfight!! Vanguard Team League series which will take place between April to July 2014. The Cardfight!! Vanguard “Team League” tournament series focuses on the team format. Players of all ages may form teams, consisting of 3 members, to face off against other teams.

The key change between Team League 2013 and Team League 2014 is the featured Regional Championships across multiple countries between April to July 2014.  These Regional Championships will lead up to the Continental Championships for each of the 3 regions (North America, EU, Asia-Oceania) in July 2014. Bushiroad will sponsor the travel and accommodation fees of most winning teams from each Regional Championship.

For an immersive experience within the current Cardfight!! Vanguard narrative universe, players form teams to “protect” or “invade” their region during the Cardfight!! Vanguard Team League 2014. Teams who choose to protect are the “Cray Defenders,” while teams who invade are the “Void Invaders.” The results will be updated on Cardfight!! Vanguard’s website and Facebook page to reflect the progress of the campaign. 

The Cardfight!! Vanguard Team League 2014 will be held in conjunction with the “Neo-Showdown” and “Buddy Challenge,” which will be the first major English tournaments for Weiβ Schwarz and Future Card Buddyfight respectively.

Producer of the English Edition Cardfight!! Vanguard and Weiβ Schwarz, and Co-Producer of Future Card Buddyfight, Shunichi Taira explained that the changes in the qualifying format were to cater to the growing communities for Cardfight!! Vanguard, WeiβSchwarz and Future Card Buddyfight. “We are excited to have future major events feature all current English editions of our games. We will plan for these events to be held in multiple central locations around the world to cater to players everywhere”.

Press Release: Bushiroad Announces Initial Future Card Buddyfight Products and Release Dates

Los Angeles, CA (October 22, 2013) – Bushiroad announced the initial product release dates and additional information for their newest trading card game, Future Card Buddyfight, at several conferences around the United States, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Numerous players and store owners attended the conferences which were conducted by Bushiroad President Takaaki Kidani along with special guests: Future Card Buddyfight co-creators Shunichi Taira and Yoshimasa Ikeda, and Bushiroad USA General Manager Junghun Kim.

Bushiroad revealed the initial product release information in addition to the accompanying animated series and comic serialization schedules. President Kidani described Future Card Buddyfight as “easy yet complex.” Future Card Buddyfight will launch with three initial products—Trial Deck Vol. 1 : Dominant Dragons and Trial Deck Vol. 2: Savage Steel will both release on January 24, 2014, and Booster Pack Vol. 1: Dragon Chief will release a week later on January 31, 2014. The English and Japanese versions of the game will release simultaneously worldwide.

OLM Inc., the animation studio responsible for the Pokémon movie series, will be producing the Future Card Buddyfight animation series, scheduled to air in Japan from January 2014. An English-dubbed version will air shortly thereafter in Singapore and on YouTube worldwide.

A comic serialization will also appear in Shogakukan’s “Coro Coro Comic” in November in Japan.

Yoshimasa Ikeda, co-creator of Future Card Buddyfight and former CEO of the successful Japanese trading card game store franchise Card Kingdom, described the game as a “culmination of all the feedback that we’ve taken directly from store owners and players.” While the primary target audience in Japan is children ages 9-11, both President Kidani and Yoshimasa Ikeda feel that the game will also have a wider appeal in the United States. Gameplay demonstrations followed each presentation with many of the attendees taking the opportunity to sample the game.

In closing, Bushiroad vowed to fully support Future Card Buddyfight with a worldwide organized play program, and mentioned that in addition to their initial product offerings, they are planning for a full release schedule for 2014. Further information about Future Card Buddyfight will be presented by Bushiroad at Anime Festival Asia taking place in Singapore November 8-10, 2013.

News: Bushiroad Announces New Trial Deck, Confirms WCS2013, BT11 to be Released Before BT10

Today Bushiroad USA has put out a press release detailing their plans for 2013, bringing with it the formal announcement of WCS2013 as well as its European and Asia-Oceanian branches. Careful reading of the press release also reveals a new trial deck, "Extra Trial Deck EXTD-01" which will "contain exclusive deck accessories for both new and veteran players". Some speculate that EXTD-01, scheduled to be sold during the 2013 holiday season, may be a counterpart to the VG-DG01 DAIGO Special Set, but Bushiroad has kept quiet about the matter.

Surprisingly, Bushiroad has also announced that VGE-BT11: Seal Dragons Unleashed, which was previously slated for a December 13th release following VGE-BT10: Triumphant Return of the King of Knights on October 25th, has had its release date swapped and will be released on October 25th while BT10 will instead come in December. Producer of the English-language Cardfight!! Vanguard TCG cited "production and operational issues." This may be a move to prevent Dragonic Descendant from gaining the same dominance in the English format that he held until recently in Japan, as BT10's new release date is outside the bounds of the now-confirmed dates for World Championship 2013 while before it would have been released prior to the finals in November.

Bushiroad Unveils World Championship 2013, New Cardfight!! Vanguard Product and Future Card Buddyfight Plans

Singapore (July 7, 2013) – Bushiroad announced the official logo and qualifying structure for the upcoming Cardfight!! Vanguard World Championship 2013. Similar to the first ever World Championship held in 2012, open national qualifiers will be held in the regions of North America, Europe and Asia-Oceania.

These qualifiers are scheduled to be held in September and October 2013. The finalists from the qualifiers will face each other in their respective continental championships in November 2013. The continental representatives will then battle for the World Championship 2013 title in December in a currently undisclosed venue.

A new Cardfight!! Vanguard product under the working title, Extra Trial Deck EXTD-01, was also revealed at the conference. This premium trial deck gift set will contain exclusive deck accessories for both new and veteran players and is expected to be sold during the festive seasons at the end of 2013.

Bushiroad also announced changes to the release dates of Booster Pack Vol. 10 and Booster Pack Vol. 11. Mr. Shunichi Taira, producer of the English edition Cardfight!! Vanguard, cited that the changes were made due to production and operational issues.

Booster Pack Vol. 11 Seal Dragons Unleashed was brought forward to October 25, 2013. Booster Pack Vol. 10 Triumphant Return of the King of Knights will be available from December 13, 2013.

Bushiroad revealed more information about the new license, “Future Card Buddyfight,” that was previously unveiled in June 2013. The rules are easy to pick up, and players will be able to learn the rules by watching the TV animation. Players can choose their favorite monster to be their ‘Buddy Monster.’ Monsters from different worlds in Buddyfight allow players to bring different strategies to the game.

Bushiroad USA Inc. and Bushiroad South East Asia Pte Ltd will provide support during the simultaneous release of the Japanese and English editions of Future Card Buddyfight in January 2014.

The Future Card Buddyfight license will be heavily promoted through comic serialization and animation.  Comic serialization begins from Winter 2013 in Shogakukan’s “CoroCoro Comic.” The TV animation will be released in Japan in early 2014, with the animation done by OLM Inc., the animation studio behind the Pokémon movie series and “Inazuma Eleven.” Bushiroad has also announced plans to air the English-dubbed animation in Singapore, Malaysia and on YouTube.

Los Angeles, CA (July 5, 2013) – To commemorate the home entertainment release of the popular animated series “Sword Art Online,” Aniplex USA will be including an exclusive Sword Art Online promotional card from Bushiroad’s Weiss Schwarz trading card game in the Blu-Ray Box Set Vol. 1.

The Sword Art Online Blu-Ray Box Set Vol. 1: Aincrad Part 1 will release on August 13, 2013.

The promotional card features the show’s main characters Kirito and Asuna, and will be a useable card for the collectible trading card game, Weiss Schwarz. It will only be available with the Blu-Ray version.

Weiss Schwarz is a popular card gaming system in Japan, and features various licensed anime characters, including those from “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” and “Fate/Zero.” Bushiroad recently began offering organized play support and expanded English product offerings starting in June of this year.

“Future Card Buddyfight” is a new generation trading card game meant for children between the ages of 9 and 11 years old. Comic serialization begins from Winter 2013 in Shogakukan’s “CoroCoro Comic,” and the airing of the “Future Card Buddyfight” TV Animation in Japan starts in early 2014.

In an unprecedented move, the company has announced that “Future Card Buddyfight” will feature simultaneous worldwide releases of both the Japanese and English editions of the card game in January 2014.

“Trial Deck Vol. 8: Liberator of the Sanctuary” and “Trial Deck Vol. 9: Eradicator of the Empire” will be available from October 4, 2013. These new decks provide crucial new units, mechanics and deck-building options for fan favorite clans, Gold Paladin and Narukami.
