Episode 7 of Cardfight!! Vanguard reboot teases 12 new Dimension Police cards

12 Dimension Police units from V-Extra Booster 02: Champions of the Asia Circuit were shown in part in today's episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard. With the exception of the trigger units, the effects given are only partially complete or involve guesswork based on what was shown in the anime.

Dimensional Robo, Goyusha
6000 Power
Because Koutei had 6 cards in his hand on his grade 2 turn after drive checking--2 more than he should have had--Goyusha appears to be the clan's Glyme clone.

Diamond Ace
Draw Trigger
5000 Power, 0 Shield
CONT: Sentinel (You may only have up to 4 cards in your deck with "Sentinel")
AUTO [Guardian Circle]: When placed, [Cost: Discard 1 card from your hand], and one of your units cannot be hit until the end of that battle.

Dimensional Robo, Daibattles
Critical Trigger
5000 Power, 15000 Shield
Dimensional Robo, Gorescue
Heal Trigger
5000 Power, 20000 Shield
Commander Laurel
Grade 1, 10000 shield

Dimensional Robo, Daitiger
Grade 1
8000 Power, 10000 Shield
Dimensional Robo, Daimariner
Unknown

Dimensional Robo, Daibrave
Grade 1, 8000 Power
Dimensional Robo, Daidragon
Grade 2, 10000 Power
AUTO [Vanguard/Rearguard Circles]: When placed, [Cost: Soulblast 1] your vanguard gets Power +5000 until end of turn.
CONT [Rearguard Circle]: If your vanguard's power is 35000 or greater, this unit gets Power +10000.
Koutei uses Daidragon's soulblast twice in the fight, once when riding it and a second time when he rides Daiyusha to reach 35k. Daibrave seems to have a +3k effect, as Kenji's final power after boosting Daiyusha with it is 38k.

Because Koutei has 6 cards in hand on his second turn after his battle phase, either Daidragon or Daibrave appears to have a draw effect. Koutei never declares anything related to Daibrave, but it could be a Circle Magus equivalent. Or Daidragon could have a vanguard draw like Berserk Dragon.

Cosmo Break
Grade 2
10000 Power, 5000 Shield

Super Dimensional Robo, Daiyusha
Imaginary Gift: Force
13000 Power, 0 Shield
CONT [Vanguard Circle]: If its Power is 35000 or greater, this unit gets Critical +1.

Ultimate Dimensional Robo, Great Daiyusha
Imaginary Gift: Force
13000 Power, 0 Shield
Skills unknown

Lozenge Magus revealed as BCF2018 promo

The Japanese Bushiroad Card Fight event page updated today with information on the participation prizes for the BCF2018 tournament, which includes a hotstamped Lozenge Magus promotional card. Lozenge Magus is a Common in V-Booster Set 01: UNITE! TEAM Q4, and the intended First Vanguard for Oracle Think Tank much as Battleraizer is for Nova Grappler.
AUTO: When rode upon, draw a card.
Lozenge is a clone of Glyme from Royal Paladin. Thus far all four of the FVs revealed have been on-ride draw support, forgoing the unique starters of past formats in favor of saving up the soul for paying costs. Although this means First Vanguards are largely a matter of aesthetics in the new Standard format, that doesn't put them beyond bigger deck interactions--Battleraizer can be sent in and out of the soul by Hi-powered Raizer Custom, opening up the possibility that Lozenge will interact directly with her own set of card effects in the future.

V-Booster Set 01: UNITE! TEAM Q4 will launch in Japan May 25th, 2018, and in English June 22nd. It will be accompanied by sleeves based on Dragonic Overlord and Blaster Blade. V-Trial Deck 01: Sendou Aichi and V-TD02: Kai Toshiki launched in Japanese May 11th, 2018, and will launch in English June 8th.

The first Extra Booster set of Standard, V-EB01: The Destructive Roar will launch in Japan June 29th, 2018, and August 2nd for the English-speaking world. The accompanying new anime series, codenamed "Origin," began airing May 5th, with an English-subtitled simulcast on both YouTube and Crunchyroll.

Goddess of Insight Sotoorihime revealed on Vanguard YouTube channel

The official Japanese Cardfight!! Vanguard channel revealed a new Oracle Think Tank grade 2 today, Goddess of Insight Sotoorihime.
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When it attacks a vanguard, by paying [Cost: Counterblast 1], draw 1 card, discard 1 card from your hand, this unit gets Power +6000 until end of turn, and if your vanguard is grade 3 or greater, look at 1 card from the top of your deck, and place it on the top or bottom of your deck.
Sotoorihime's skill allows you to filter out lower-shield and previously drive checked cards to keep the opponent unaware of what your hand is, while powering up CEO Amaterasu through her autoskill and making Sotoorihime a 15 base that can easily become a 22-23k column for the purposes of taking shield away. Because of her mandatory discard she's a wash in terms of card advantage, gaining a card to give up a card, and while in the long term you'll gain more advantage by conserving your counterblast for Amaterasu's ACT, Sotoorihime's offense should not be dismissed. Thinking exclusively defensively is a good way to survive, but won't push the opponent into a corner, whereas using Sotoorihime to make the right columns with Farfalle Magus or Mizunohame will push them into a situation where they can't guard.

With this, the Oracle Think Tank grade 2 lineup is now shaping up as...
Grade 2
x4 Yellow Witch, MeMe
x4 Goddess of Insight Sotoorihime
x4 Weather Girl, Saft
However, we must keep in mind that Silent Tom is also getting a remake in BT01, and is a likely candidate for Oracle Think Tank's RRR grade 2, just like High Dog Breeder Akane and Berserk Dragon. Tom will probably be a staple in the deck, leaving the question of what we should cut--MeMe, whose on-place skill encourages you to conserve her early for Amaterasu turns? Sotoorihime, who siphons off additional counterblast from the deck for offense? Saft, who serves the same offensive purpose as Sotoorihime but takes away soul instead?

Bushiroad evidently thinks it's Saft, else she wouldn't be a Common while the rest are Single Rares, but redundancy is important in deckbuilding and on-place effects are genuinely restrictive to maintaining an offensive from beginning to end. Sotoorihime and Saft's skills are repeatable across multiple turns, with the latter getting another shot at using her effect every time you reride for another Protect marker.

V-Booster Set 01: UNITE! TEAM Q4 will launch in Japan May 25th, 2018, and in English June 22nd. It will be accompanied by sleeves based on Dragonic Overlord and Blaster Blade. V-Trial Deck 01: Sendou Aichi and V-TD02: Kai Toshiki will launch in Japanese tomorrow, and in English June 8th. They will be accompanied by a new sleeve based on the "Imaginary Gift" design.

Twin Blader appears in first episode of Vanguard anime: Nova Grappler Draw Trigger perfect guard?

The first episode of the 2018 Cardfight!! Vanguard anime featured a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo by a new Nova Grappler Draw Trigger. Visible just as Miwa finishes fighting Morikawa, when rotated 90 degrees and scaled up the card appears to be a remade Twin Blader, Nova Grappler's original perfect guard from Booster Set 2: Onslaught of Dragon Souls.

The card would be an ideal fit for one of Nova Grappler's still-unseen Double Rares, as with the reveal of Miss Mist Tuesday they are currently only clan in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4 to lack a Draw Trigger perfect guard. With Iseult and Barri having set the bar, it's now expected that every clan will eventually receive a clone of these cards in order to free up their grade 1 space.
In addition to Twin Blader, the manga card Cat Butler also made an appearance in the opening sequence, still a grade 0. The card's original skill was to retire itself after your grade 2 vanguard's attack failed to hit, standing the vanguard; this proved devastating with the onset of Legion format in 2014, as Cat Butler could stand grade 2 Legion Mates, and when a Legion Mate stands its Leader stands with it. Cat Butler giving Nova Grappler a high-power 2 Critical center lane capable of restanding at a net +1 as many times as it had Butlers if its attack didn't hit eventually lead to the card's restriction in the Japanese format.

V-Booster Set 01: UNITE! TEAM Q4 will launch in Japan May 25th, 2018, and in English June 22nd. It will be accompanied by sleeves based on Dragonic Overlord and Blaster Blade. V-Trial Deck 01: Sendou Aichi and V-TD02: Kai Toshiki will launch in Japanese May 11th, 2018, and in English June 8th. They will be accompanied by a new sleeve based on the "Imaginary Gift" design.

The first Extra Booster set of Standard, V-EB01: The Destructive Roar will launch in Japan June 29th, 2018, and August 3rd for the English-speaking world. The accompanying new anime series, codenamed "Origin," began airing May 5th, with an English-subtitled simulcast on both YouTube and Crunchyroll.

Monthly Bushiroad reveals Nova Grappler "Hero" support, previews new episodes

An anonymous user in Japan acquired the June issue of Monthly Bushiroad magazine three days early, and photographs of the issue reveal a glut of new support for the Oracle Think Tank and Nova Grappler clans in V-Booster Set 01: UNITE! TEAM Q4. The Nova Grappler support primarily focuses on having units with the "Hero" race like Extra Muscular, while the Oracle Think Tank support focuses on stacking the top card of the deck. Several of the new Oracles are designed to synergize with the newly-revealed CEO Amaterasu from the current Japanese Card of the Day profile.

For space, this month's leaks have been split into two pages:

The issue also reveals the titles and summaries of episodes three and four of the anime series, which will be airing May 19th and 26th.

Image 3: Who is the Strongest Fighter!?
The young boy fighter Katsuragi Kamui enters Card Capital looking to challenge its strongest fighter. Sendou Aichi and Kai Toshiki are nominated out of those present, and fight Kamui.
Image 4: Misaki's Secret!!
Although he was inexperienced, the change Aichi underwent because of Vanguard interests Card Capital's sales clerk, Tokura Misaki. After receiving an invitation from Aichi, Misaki challenges him to her first fight.
These episodes appear to be direct adaptations of the second and third manga chapters, "Let's Go to Card Capital!" and "A Shop Employee Fighter is Born!" which were the focus chapters for Kamui and Misaki. Those chapters also focus on some of the cards revealed in this issue, like Cup Bowler.

Nova Grappler "Hero" support

From the June issue of Monthly Bushiroad magazine.

All of these units focus on having units with the "Hero" race in play, and all of them are dual-race. Note that the Extra Muscular promotional card is also a "Hero" unit. These primarily consist of Miwa's cards from the manga, and represent an alternative play style to Kamui's Asura Kaiser-Raizer deck.

Miss Splendor
AUTO [Vanguard/Rearguard Circles]: During the battle in which your Hero attacks, your opponent cannot intercept, and if the number of your rearguards is greater than your opponent's, the attacking unit gets Power +3000.
No Imaginary Gift.
Race is Alien/Hero.
This is Miwa's key grade 3 early in the manga; originally the intercept blocking only applied to Miss Splendor herself, and there was no power gain effect.

Miss Splendor is a Single Rare in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Battle Door Fighter
ACT [Vanguard Circle]: Once per turn: [Cost: Counterblast 1, soulblast 1] Choose 1 of your units, until end of turn during the battle when that unit attacks, when your opponent would call guardians from their hand, if they do not call 2 or more guardians, they cannot call.
AUTO [Vanguard/Rearguard Circles]: When it attacks a vanguard, if the number of your rearguards is 3 or greater, this unit gets Power +5000 until the end of that battle.
Imaginary Gift: Accel
Race is Human/Hero.
The Question & Answer section of Monthly Bushiroad states that in order to call a perfect guard against the unit with Battle Door's effect on it, you must call another card in addition to the perfect guard. Discarding for the perfect guard does not count as calling 2 or more guardians.

Battle Door Fighter is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Boomerang Thrower
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When placed, if there are 1 or less face-up cards in your damage zone, Countercharge 1.
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When placed, if you have 1 or less cards in your soul, Soulcharge 1.
Race is Human/Hero.
The original Boomerang Thrower was one of Miwa's grade 2s, and allowed him to attack an opponent's back row unit when he rode it.

Boomerang Thrower is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Cup Bowler
CONT [Vanguard/Rearguard Circle]: During your turn, if you have another <<Hero>> unit, this unit gets Power +5000.
Race is Human/Hero.
Another of Miwa's grade 2s from the manga, its effect was never shown in the story, but previously had a promo version of it printed that gained power whenever a Nova Grappler was rested.

Cup Bowler is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Rocket Hammer Man
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When this unit boosts a Hero, by paying [Cost: Soulblast 1], this unit gets Power +5000 until end of turn.
Race is Human/Hero.

Rocket Hammerman is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Tap the Hyper
AUTO: When you ride, draw 1 card.
Race is Human/Hero.

Tap the Hyper is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Oracle Think Tank BT01 support

From the June issue of Monthly Bushiroad magazine.

These cards focus on a mix of draw effects and checking the top card of the deck, increasing the power of CEO Amaterasu. Mizunohame introduces a new condition to OraThin--having 3 or more damage.

Battle Maiden, Sarasa
AUTO [Vanguard/Rearguard Circles]: When it attacks a vanguard, look at 1 card from the top of your deck, place it on the top or bottom of your deck, and until the end of that battle this unit gets Power +6000.
No Imaginary Gift.
Sarasa is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Yellow Witch, MeMe
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When placed, look at the top card of your deck, and place it on the top or bottom of your deck.
MeMe is a Single Rare in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Weather Girl, Safuto
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: Once per turn: When you draw a card, by paying [Cost: Soulblast 1], this unit gets Power +6000 until end of turn.
The Question & Answer section of Monthly Bushiroad states that Draw Triggers will cause Safuto to meet her check timing, allowing you to resolve the effect even if you don't draw through a skill.

Safuto is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Solid Turtle
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When placed, by paying [Cost: Soulblast 1] draw 1 card, and discard 1 card from your hand.
Solid Turtle is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

 Goddess of Time's Passing, Mizunohame
AUTO [Rearguard Circle]: When it boosts a vanguard, if the number of cards in your damage zone is 3 or more, this unit gets Power +6000 until the end of that battle.
Mizunohame is a Common in V-BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4.

Silent Tom
Oracle Think Tank's famous Silent Tom will be appearing in V-BT01 with a new ability, but it won't be revealed in this issue.

Front Triggers have 15k shield, Monthly Bushiroad reveals new playmat at Vanguard Festival

April 4th, 2018. The latest issue of Monthly Bushiroad magazine shows a special playmat that will be available at the festival for 3000 yen (approx. $28 US) based on the Cray Chronicle Notes Beginning anthology that will also be available for purchase at Vanguard Fest. The artwork focuses on the King of Knights Alfred and Blaster Blade facing off with Dragonic Overlord, emphasizing the "beginning" focus of the anthology. There will also be a pair of clear files based on Cray Chronicle key art available for 800 yen, and a version of the two items packaged together.

A Q&A on Front Triggers clarifies that only units in the front row at the time the trigger is checked will gain the 10k power boost. If a unit is moved to the front row from the back afterwards, or if a new unit is called to the front row, it won't receive the power.

The sample trigger presented is Turbo Raizer, a Front Trigger for Nova Grappler. Turbo Raizer is shown with 15000 shield, the same as what the new Critical Triggers possess in the Standard format. Previously some had speculated Front Triggers would have just 10k shield, putting them between Draw (5k) and Critical Triggers in defense value.

Another page from the magazine previews an illustration from the AKR (Akira) booth at the Vanguard Festival. Franchise creator Itou Akira created the illustration reimagining Sendou Aichi as a racecar driver and Tokura Misaki as a race queen. Itou will be the feature of a panel at the AKR booth, though the specifics of it are unstated. At past panels he's done autograph signings and drawing demonstrations.

This is far from the first time Itou has used the characters like this; in the past Bushiroad even secured an officially-licensed crossover promotion with the 2013 Ender's Game movie, and Itou drew the cast at the film's Battle School as part of it. (The full version of this illustration can be found at the beginning of volume 7 of the English Cardfight!! Vanguard manga.)

Monthly Bushiroad leaks TD01 and 02 decklists, refers to new unit "Auspice Falcon"

April 4th, 2018. The first images out of Monthly Bushiroad magazine have hit the net, revealing several details about the upcoming Trial Decks V-TD01: Sendou Aichi and V-TD02: Kai Toshiki. At the upcoming Great Vanguard Festival, Japanese cardfighters will be able to pick up hotstamped promo versions of the Trial Decks First Vanguards, Lizard Runner Undeux and Grime. These cards are printed in the style of current Special Parallels, so they have no boxes around their skill text. Undeux will be distributed on the first day of Vanguard Fest, April 29th, and Grime on the 30th. In terms of abilities and stats these two are identical to the versions distributed in the Stardrive and Crested Dragon Start Decks, but this is our first look at their unaltered background art.
Grime & Lizard Runner, Undeux

Tachikaze & Aqua Force will have Front Triggers, Bushiroad wants you to play Pale Moon in Premium Standard

You can't make me.
A page from Card Gamer magazine gives insight into how 14 of Standard Vanguard's 24 clans will interact with the Imaginary Gift mechanic. The image is rough, but an approximate summary of each clan's role is given below.

As a reminder, the three Imaginary Gifts are:
  • Force - When your grade 3 unit with the Force ability is placed on the vanguard circle you add a Force marker to any of your circles, and for the rest of the game anything moved into that circle gets +10000 power during your turn. These decks emphasize "balance."
  • Accel - When your grade 3 unit with the Protect ability is placed on the vanguard circle, you add an Accel marker to the left of your leftmost front rearguard circle. That marker becomes a new rearguard circle, and anything you call to it gets +10000 power during your turn, but it cannot be boosted. The next time you ride a grade 3, you add another Accel marker to the right of your rightmost circle, then you return to the left for the instance after that, and alternate endlessly. These decks emphasize "attack."
  • Protect - When your grade 3 unit with the Protect ability is placed on the vanguard circle, you add a Protect marker to your hand. The Protect marker acts as a perfect guard while in hand; you can guard with it to discard a card to negate attacks. It has no grade nor other unit information, and cannot exist outside the hand or guardian circle, so after use it returns to the Gift zone. These decks emphasize "defense."
Oracle Think Tank - Protect
The Gift Marker in hand counts for the purposes of Oracle, increasing your hand size to make meeting the conditions easier. Because the clan draws so many cards, it can pay the cost of using Protect Markers as perfect guards again and again, nullifying countless attacks. Just defending won't win you the game though, so OraThin will have a powerful attacker to close games with.

Granblue - Protect
For the clan that focuses on resurrecting cards out of the drop zone, the discard aspect of Protect meshes well with its play style. First you discard units to block attacks, then pull those same units out next turn to use offensively.

Royal Paladin - Force
Force synergizes with Royal Paladin's overall strategy of calling rearguards from the deck, as those rearguards then have a basic power bonus to work with even if they're not boosted. Doubling up on the number of Force markers on one circle is recommended, making rearguards that are as threatening as the vanguard.

Spike Brothers - Force
Spike Brothers also call from the deck, but emphasize repeated calling mid-battle phase. You can set up 2+ Force markers on a rearguard circle, then structure your attacks so that this circle repeatedly empties after battle and gets a new unit called into it that will then gain the 20k power boost.

Shadow Paladin - Force
This clan calls from the deck in order to later sacrifice its rearguards to power up the vanguard. In the new series, this can be used to either strengthen the rearguards for their attacks before you sacrifice them, or to focus on making the vanguard overwhelming.

Tachikaze - Accel
This is a highly technical clan that superior calls units by retiring them, which Accel enhances by giving you additional rearguards to get your timing right with. This clan is also one of the few to have access Front Triggers.

Aqua Force - Accel
Aqua Force emphasizes making additional attacks and resolving skills based on the number of attacks made, so Accel is a natural fit for the clan because it increases both the number of times you can attack and the ways in which you can structure those attacks. The additional power makes those attacks matter more. (As opposed to Tidal Assault swinging for 16000 --> 4000  at 13k bases in BT09 format.) Aqua Force will also have Front Triggers in the new format.

Megacolony - Protect
This clan focuses on preventing the opponent's units from standing, controlling their board by reducing their number of attacks each turn, and reducing their hand size by forcing them to call over paralyzed units. Protect keeps the opponent on total lockdown, as whatever attack they can make is negated.

Dark Irregulars - Protect
The old image of DI as a Protect clan would be "Blade Wing," but what kind of ability could that become in the new series? The old DI was themed around increasing power by increasing the soul, and with Protect they can become a "soulcharge to increase power" deck that does not run Sentinels. Protect eliminates the risk of never seeing a perfect guard due to soulcharging it.

Kagerou - Force
Kagerou is a control deck which in the endgame finishes the opponent off by standing their own vanguard. Placing Force on the vanguard circle plays to that winning image. You should look forward to what Dragonic Overlord's skillset will be.

Dimension Police - Force
DP revolves around powering up the vanguard to achieve its goals, so Force is the gift that best supports their strategy. You can look forward to a Commander Laurel-type vanguard stand ability in the future.

Nova Grappler - Accel
This clan's theme is attacking multiple times with powerful rearguards, so Accel is an obvious match. The issue promises that Front Triggers are going to be a big deal for Nova Grappler.

Murakumo - Accel
Murakumo's strategy is to call "shadow clones" of units already on the field from the deck, then send them to the bottom of the deck in the end phase, preserving them for next turn with hit-and-run tactics. However, up through the end of the G series there was a further emphasis on attacking from the back row. Due to the nature of Accel creating additional frontrow circles, this is no longer possible. On the other hand, it was also possible to run out of circles to call to, unless the Murakumo fighter deliberately held back. Accel fixes this flaw by ensuring there's always a new empty circle every time you ride a grade 3. Thus, you can attack many times without depleting your hand.

Pale Moon - Accel
Since Pale Moon attacks multiple times by pulling cards in and out of the soul during battle, Accel's power boost and additional circle is a good fit for the clan's technical play style. You can also use the additional circle to play around situations where you would originally have retired units that you would call over.

Additionally, the article recommends taking advantage of Pale Moon's unique characteristics in Premium Standard format, where fighters will have access to the G Zone as well as Gifts. It makes special mention of Masquerade Master Harri and Dreamiy Axel Milward. Harri can call up to three units from soul on-attack, making use of the additional frontrow rearguard circles, and Milward calls two units out of the soul in the main phase, which can likewise make use of that fourth/fifth circle. The power buffs from these cards also help compensate for the lack of boost on Accel circles.

The Gift mechanic will first be commercially available in Trial Deck 01: Sendou Aichi and Trial Deck 02: Kai Toshiki, launching in Japanese May 11th, 2018, and in English June 8th, 2018. They will be accompanied by a new sleeve based on the Imaginary Gift design. The first Booster Set of the Standard format, BT01: UNITE! TEAM Q4! will launch in Japan May 25th, 2018, and in English June 22nd, 2018. The accompanying new anime series, codenamed "Origin," will begin airing May 5th, 2018, on TV Tokyo and affiliated stations. It will be simulcast with English subtitles on YouTube and Crunchyroll.

News: Fans Leak Sovereign Star Dragon, Murakumo Restander

This morning an anonymous Japanese retailer broke the street date on G-BT03: Sovereign Star Dragon, enabling fans to spoil the remaining unknown cards in the set online. The major takeaway of the cards revealed is Ambush Demonic Stealth Dragon, Homura Raider; a stride unit that is also Murakumo's first restanding boss card.

ACT (Vanguard circle): [Counterblast 2, choose a face down card named “Ambush Demonic Stealth Dragon, Homura Dragon” in your generation zone, turn it face up] If the number of cards in your generation zone is two or greater, during this turn, this unit gets Drive -1 and "AUTO (Vanguard circle): At the close step of the battle in which this unit attacked a vanguard, choose one of your rearguards, and return three rearguards with the same name as it to the bottom of your deck, if you returned three, stand this unit. Shuffle that deck."

Homura Raider's skill was shown off today in Bushiroad's weekly information bulletin, with the deck being played by seiyuu Morishita Shuuta, the voice of Nitta Shin in the anime series. In his fight, Morishita used the skill by using his other skills to superior call three copies of the draw trigger Cat Rogue and then return them to the deck for Homura's skill, increasing his chances of checking triggers on the second attack. Sovereign Star Dragon will hit in Japan on May 29th, and internationally on July 10th.

Murakumo's other notable cards from the set include their new first vanguard, Onifundou (bottom left) and the stand trigger Hidden Scroll. Onifundou provides a rare opportunity for Murakumo to dig into the deck for a search target for a combo, rather than to clone cards already drawn, while Hidden Scroll can superior call two copies of a card other than himself. Also visible in this image is Neutron Star Lady Gunner, a game-changing support unit for Link Joker's Messiah deck. When ridden or called, her generation break 1 locks one of her own rearguards to lock an opponent's; locking one's own rearguards makes more viable targets for Amnesty Messiah's power and critical skill.

Stealth Rogue, Onifundou

The Shadow Paladin cards leaked include new support for the Demon World Castle subclan previously formalized in Requiem at Dusk, ToteWächter and StreitenTurm. ToteWächter is German for Death Watcher (or "Death Watchman") while StreitenTurm is Fighting Tower.

Shadow Paladin has also received specific named support for Claret Sword Dragon, in the Yearning Knight Branwen (哀慕の騎士ブランウェン Aibo no Kishi Buranuen). Branwen is a Steam Breath Dragon copy for Shadow Paladin, filling the stride-enabling gap left by Pitch Black Sage Charon.

Heroic Saga's skill functionally forces the opponent to either retire a unit or not be able to use perfect defense cards. Quintet walls are functionally exempt from having their guard broken, and Heroic Saga will not work if the opponent guards with multiple 10000-power shields.

Every clan included in Sovereign Star Dragon with the exception of Kagerou and Cray Elemental is receiving a G-perfect defense, with the ability to countercharge a damage when guarded with if there is a copy of them in the drop zone. These are, by clan;

While these Dark Irregulars units are disappointing to some--as they come in lieu of an Izaya reprint, or generation break versions of Doreen the Thruster and Izaya that work in any phase--there are some upsides to their introduction. Lunatic Masquerade's +2000 power boosts stack on top of one another so that at the 10+ soul benchmark he has a total +4000 power booster and becomes a permanent 11000-power booster. The advantage to this over Doreen is that the soul count being increased during the battle phase will affect his power, allowing the use of Scoremaker Vampir and Kiskill-Lila to pump him up to that point. Moreover, the later in the game Lunatic is on the field the more effective he is over long stretches compared to Doreen, as he does not require redundant soulcharging to power up.

Dragon Knight, Janat
